Belt and Roller replacement

Postby garyloos » Sun Oct 20, 2019 7:15 am

I have a 2006 Helix with 7500 mile on it.

I am planning to replace the drive belt and rollers and have some questions.

I am considering installing Dr. Pulley sliders. Do I order the 24 x 18 size? What weight slider would be best to try? With the standard rollers I have good acceleration and can get up to 69 mph easily. I think the OEM weight is 23 grams.

I am planning to replace belt while I am in there. I have read posts about using Gates 6012. I have read measurements of 848 x 23 x 30 for the Gates belt. I have also seen OEM Bando belts with a measurement of 831 x 22.5 x 30, There are 17 mm difference in length between the two belts and wondering which belt to purchase.

I have no experience with the Dr. Pulley sliders. I use the OEM Honda Helix pink rollers. They are the best value.

Belts (all will work well with the CN 250 Helix and CH 250 Elite:

(Outside circumference mm) x (top width mm) x (Angle degrees), cost, country of origin

Belt OEM Bando: 831x22.5x30 23100-KM1-671 $71.29, Japan

Gates 6012: 848x23x30, $11.70, S. Korea (best information)

Gates PL30809 832x22.5x28, $40.00, S. Korea (best information)

I've been running the Gates 6012 belt with no issues.
