Oil Cooler ?

Postby Cosmic_Jumper » Mon Aug 05, 2019 2:05 pm

Because oil is the life blood of the Helix, and because the engine oil capacity is so small, I wonder if anyone has devised a method of adding an external oil cooler to both increase the oil capacity as well as to extract more heat from the oil?

Granted, not an oil cooler, but even the old VW Beetle had an aftermarket filter kit available.

Probably why we change the oil every 1200 miles! Remember the Honda engineers seem to know what they were doing when they built the Helix!

The engine in the Helix is a low stress engine. One quart of oil for a single cylinder is plenty.
And oil operates within a certain temperature range. Select an oil for your climate.
Changing the engine coolant is often overlooked by owners. A healthy cooling system will keep your bike running a looong time.
