Help with Honda Helix shocks

Postby Atxhelix » Sat Oct 20, 2018 8:48 pm

Hey all-
Just bought a 1987 Honda Helix for the back of my Motorhome & I’ve been replacing a few things. The front shocks were shot so I bought a new OEM set on eBay but they really “loose” and I have been bottoming out and grinding the front tire on turns and tiny bumps. Guessing I need to replace the rear shocks as well and any suggestions on where/what to get would be MUCH appreciated!
Thanks so much 8)

I have found the standard Honda shocks too soft and have fitted Hagon shocks, they are a little stiffer and really feel much better, highly recommended. Not sure where to buy them in the USA but the link below is to the Hagon site.

This is the Hagon USA site.

Their application chart is quite hard to as there are plenty of options.

Yep, Hagons are the best option IMO - I run them on both my bikes. The Honda ones were pretty well worn out when I got both machines, so I couldn't really make any worthwhile comment on them. I did once buy a set of the no-brand Chinese rears you find on eBay, and those were terrible - moving the adjusters couldn't get them any firmer than the shot Honda ones, and one was leaking within 5000 miles.
