Great news guys, installed the new carb with the 115 main jet. It runs awesome. Weather is in the mid to high 60's. Sunny. took her up the coast on Highway 1 to Cambria, Calif. Very scenic 60 mile ride

I think I'm going to switch to the recommended extended high speed spark plug. Since most of my riding is 65 mph or plus. At least give it a try. Thank you for your help !

Wow, what a difference that makes. I have a few observations from my 100 plus mile ride the other day. Fuel mileage, not quite the same with the 115 main jet. I might order a 112 main jet to try. Acceleration is great , top end feels good as well. But the one thing I did notice. That I was on the rev limiter quite a bit, compared to before. Any thoughts? Thank you

I ordered the 112 main jet. I hope get back my fuel mileage. Stock jet, it was close to 60 mpg. 115 main jet. It dropped to 40 ish . Great power. On the rev limiter a lot. top speed of 78 to 80 mph. Along with no popping on decel. Keep in mind it a brand new factory honda carb. I switched to the 112 main jet. hope to get 50 ish mpg. still have good power. Happy medium. I did dectect a little bit of popping on decel. maybe beacuse its a bit leaner, or just the fact that the muffler is def rusted out and needing to be replaced. Plus I about to install the denso high speed recommended plug. Since I spend most of my time at 65 plus mph. when the weather clears up , ill give a update

well wheres the update?!?

I'm getting what I think is a lean condition with throttle pinned, where it feels like someone pumps the back brakes. It starts at about 62 mph, and if I dal back the throttle a little bit it seems to stop. If its really hot and dry here in Colorado, it doesn't really do it (like 95 degrees), which suggests the lean thing. This is on a 95 helix, btw.

I got a rebuild kit form wincycles that had the gaskets and all.. the slow jet was the same but one of the others I think was smaller so that may be my issue, so that's why I'm thinking of trying the 115 jet.

after replacing...sigh.. the auto bystarter, plug, boot, hoses and clamps, fuel pump, ignition coil, and CDI (which was what was ACTUALLY the problem in the first place), I basically have a new engine lol.

But the jerking crap at 62 is lame so I gotta try n fix. it will still usually get up to 70 on highway, and sometimes the jerking will stop but usually not, which of course feels pretty weird. if I didn't ride highway I'd never even notice.. bike runs great otherwise.

love this forum. its helped me immensely.

Ok here is a much needed update. I think the 112 main jet was the best of both worlds. Great top end. and still have better fuel economy then the 115 main jet. Stock 108 jet i was getting close to 60 mpg. 115 was 40 ish. 112 main jet. Right about 50 mpg.

115 main jet was amazing top end. I was constantly hitting the rev limiter. Fuel consumption not where I wanted after getting close to 60. 112 main. still great top end. 79-81 mph on some down hill grades. mid 70's cruising is easy on the flats. I can keep a speed of 57 or 58 mph up a 6% grade. Im a feather weight 230lbs.

I def would recommend the switch to a 112 main jet. And carb issues. Just buy a factory oem carb for about 250$ from partzilla.

My best guess you prob have junk in the bowl of the carb.
