Best back tire?

Postby Av8er » Sat Mar 16, 2019 6:17 am

I am fixing to have to replace the back tire on my 07 Helix and was curious as to what’s the best tire to go with.

Thanks in advance

I found this tire has good grip but wears fast due to the soft rubber.

I've been rockin' the bopper too. So far so good. It looks like it's from the future and I love it.

I see some people suggesting the M17A, do you know the difference between the M17 and M17A?

Bridgestone is having a rebate offer, $15 on 1, $40 on two.

I know some people who occasionally see something other than pavement like the Michelin Reggae.

The Bridgestone Molas are a couple of bucks more but I've found them the best for mileage and grip.
You should order a factory soft gasket at the same time in case the one that's in there disintegrates apron removal. Only the Honda OEM gasket fits by my experience unless the aftermarket has finally figured how to measure.

I haven't gotten into that part as I am still trying to get the intake manifold off...going to try heat and an impact wrench next.

I found out Chapparal Moto lied about the rebate.

I want to get it running first...tires second :)

Thanks!

The M17 and M17A are exactly the same. I suspect they needed a second rubber mould and added the A to distinguish between the two tools.

I read about a guy actually returning 17s to get 17As...seems the seller, BikeBandit? would have looked into that before doing an exchange.

I raised this same question some time ago, then contacted Bridgestone directly...…..this was their reply.

"with regards to the ML17 and the ML17A tyre there is no difference at all they are in fact the same tyre. Some people advertise the tyre as ML17A and some just as a ML17 the A is the mould version and is for internal use only, all ML17 tyres will have the A on them
Hope this helps "
